13th Annual Kinetic Sculpture Race October 23rd http://www.kineticrace.com An event where engineering and art collide will return this fall for its 13th year in Ventura County. The Kinetic Sculpture Race in Ventura features human-powered vehicles created to run through water, sand, mud and on the road. The event allows people to tap their creativity to craft moving pieces of art.
With the race months away, Christy Cantrell chairwoman for the event, said now is a good time to get started on designs. "Even if it's something silly, the more vehicles the better" she said. Cantrell said the entire event revolves around fun, with many awards handed out throughout the event. One of the first recognitions is given to the vehicle that breaks down during the preparation round. Since many of the contestants don't have the opportunity to fully test their models, some participants find out their creation doesn't work during the water run. "It's always a compromise, because if it does will on the sand, it may not do well on the water," Cantrell said. "It's really fun to watch and it makes people happy," Cantrell said.
The free event will be Oct. 23. It benefits the Turning Point Foundation, a group that focuses on providing care and services for people with mental illness in Ventura County. The race will be held at Ventura Harbor on Schooner Drive. For more information, sponsorship opportunities and vehicle registration, call (805) 652-0000 ext. 102 or visit http://www.kineticrace.com.

Although your real estate agent is responsible for marketing your property, it requires a joint effort to get your home sold.
How can you empower your agent? It is very important that you feel absolutely confident in your agent's ability to produce results--no matter what the market is like in your area! This may sound like stating the obvious, but it is important to let your real estate agent know you trust them to get the job done. Support that trust by putting a realistic price tag on the property and keeping it in prime showing condition. Work out showing agreements that will make it easy for agents to preview or show your home. Meet periodically to discuss any feedback from buyers who have seen your home to determine how you can improve its appeal.
Don't hesitate to share any ideas you may have about marketing your home. I will try anything that works, and have received some very good suggestions from clients.
